Caturaṅga Daṇḍāsana Abstract Painting
40″ x 40″ Large scale contemporary abstract painting on gallery canvas
Caturaṅga Daṇḍāsana is a large scale abstract painting created with palette knives and non traditional tools. It is titled after the Four-Limbed Staff Pose, a foundational posture in many yoga traditions, especially within Vinyasa and Ashtanga sequences. This asana strengthens the arms, shoulders, chest, and core while cultivating stability and endurance throughout the body. It also prepares practitioners for arm balances and backbends by building the necessary structural awareness and muscular control. This large scale abstract expressionist work is influenced by Hennick’s experience with his yoga practice.
