Sukhāsana was created with joint knives, rubber blades and construction tools. It is titled after the Easy Pose in modern yoga. Easy Pose is a simple cross-legged seated position that is often used for meditation and pranayama (breathing exercises) in yoga practice. Sukhāsana promotes stability, focus, and a calm state of mind. It encourages proper alignment of the spine and opens the hips, helping to release tension in the lower back. This pose is excellent for cultivating mindfulness and connecting with the breath, making it a favored posture for meditation. This abstract expressionist work is influenced by Hennick’s meditation and yoga practice.
