Supta Nitambāsana Abstract Painting
48″ x 36″ Large scale abstract painting on panel
Supta Nitambāsana was created with joint knives, rubber blades and construction tools. It is titled after the Banana pose in modern yoga. Supta Nitambāsana is a gentle reclining posture that creates a deep, nourishing stretch along the side body. This posture lengthens the muscles along the sides of the torso, particularly the obliques and intercostals, while also releasing tension in the lower back and hips. Its quiet, receptive quality makes it both accessible and deeply therapeutic.
The painting’s abstract imagery is influenced by Hennick’s meditation and yoga practice.
